He is survived by: his wife Patsy Ruth Howard of Prescott, Arizona.; his sister Lylia Carlisle Nelson; and his children, Michael, Richard, Ron, Von, Steve, Gary and Connie. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 72 great- grandchildren, and 1 great- great- granddaughter.
