He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cartwright and Minnie Cartwright; his wife Doris; and his siblings, Bernice, Catherine, Helen, Betty and Junior.

He is survived by: his children, Michael and Marcia; his brother Jack; his grandsons, Michael and Steven; and his great grandchildren, Meghan, Shannon, Christian, Nathan, Karah and Hank. He is also survived by four daughters.
