He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emma Hollie Farmer (Pursley) and Thomas Erwin Farmer; his siblings, Nancy Farmer Meadows and Augustus Farmer; his wife Debra Lynn Farmer (Roberts); and his children, James Emory Farmer of Colorado, Necci Farmer Hills and Hollie Farmer Tyler (Kevin) of Tennessee. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and four great -grandchildren.
