He was predeceased by: his parents, Jowett Alexander and Oneta Moffitt Fortie; and his son Jerry Layne. He is survived by: his wife Janice Webster; his children, Kalene Day (Jeff), Darren, Lori Davey (Nate) and Shauna Passey (John); and his brother John Fortie. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and soon-to-be eight great grandchildren.
