He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Bernard Nelson and Viola Werner of Virginia; his sister Shirley Ann Nelson Sherwood; his children, Jason Bernard Nelson, Julie Ann Connolly and Jennifer Jo Higby; his son-in-law Arthur Higby; and his wife Susan Walsh Nelson.
