He was predeceased by : his parents, Tallak Halvorson and Anna Halvorson (Boreson); his wife Grace Dunford; his siblings, Harold, Bernard, Trygve (Art), Marvin, Roy, Ugda Utterbach (Beatrice), Gunda Olson, Jenny Walker, Lillian Olson Browning and Cora Baker; and his son-in-law Patrick Burns.

He is survived by : his daughters, Sandra Burns and Sonia Misialek of Grafton, ND; his grandchildren, Wade Burns (Shirley) of Grafton, ND, Shawnda Kemnitz (Duane), Brent Burns (Jen), Seth Misialek and Dylan Misialek (Emily Ammesmaki); his great grandchildren, Blake Kemnitz of Grand Forks, ND, Zak Kemnitz of Grand Forks, ND, Danica Kemnitz of Grand Forks, ND, Grace Kemnitz of Grand Forks, ND and Jayce Burns; and his brothers-in-law, Wesley Dunford (Vivian) of Fargo, ND and Jack Dunford (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
