He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Kragie and Margaret "Marnie" Kragie; his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Newell; his children, Amy Freshwater (Jay), Christine Newell, Courtney Kragie and John Kragie; his grandchildren, Adalyn "Addie", Elizabeth "Lulu", Hailey, Jackson, Parker, Rachel, Ryan and Sarah; and his siblings, Scott Kragie (Barbara) and Margaret "Pegi" Kragie. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
