She is survived by: her parents, Antonio Silveira Moirinho and Rosa; her friend Joaquin Faria; her brother Eduino Moirinho; her children, Fatima Faria and Manuel Faria (Donna); her grandsons, Marc, Brandon and Justin (Jessie); and her great grandchildren, Piper, Alexis and Zachary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Maria's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization working diligently to help find a cure for this heartbreaking disease.
