He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred "Beanie" and Lavena "Beanie"; his spouse Evelyn Elizabeth (Allen); his son Merle Eric; his siblings, Gordon and Gwendolyn; and his children, Gregg (Jeanne), Santee, Gig Harbor, Wash, Cary (Margarete), Flagstaff, Ariz, Marla (Randy Smith), Poway and Calif. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, one niece and five nephews.
