It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sophie Theresa Steiz of Mesa, Arizona, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on September 13, 2022, at the age of 104, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Syc and Marcianna Syc; her husband Russell Steiz Sr.; her children, Russell Steiz Jr. and Marcia Jahnige; and her siblings, John, Walter, Charles, Frank, Bruce Syc, Helen Mickolaychuk, Jenny Faroni, Dorothy Courchaine, Marion Augustine and Theresa Early.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Steiz (Loretta), Loraine Gerstl Noreen Barroco (Peter), Beatrice Jordan (Ronald) and Thomas Steiz (Darlyne); and her sister Lillian Browne. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1great-great grandchild as well as several nieces, nephews.
