He was predeceased by : his parents, Ysabel Ortega Sr. and Manuela Gutierrez Ortega; his former life partner Concepcion Ortega; and his sisters, Ramona Madrid, Aurora Madrid and Luz Madrid.

He is survived by : his children, Ramona Madrid, Aurora Madrid and Luz Madrid; his wife Teresa Meza Ortega; and his children, Sara-Abigail Weimer, Henry Ortega and Ruben Ortega. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
