He was predeceased by : his siblings, Robert, John Wesley, Thomas Roger (Tommy), Nancy Priscilla Wood and Morris Rex Wood.

He is survived by : his wife Doris Marie Wood; his children, Valerie Hires (George Hires), Gregory Wood (Candace) and James Wood (Teri); his grandchildren, George Allen Hires (Skip), Richard Hires, Christopher Hires, Jered Wood, Nathan Wood, Elisabeth Greene (Wood) and Andrew Wood (Drew); and his great grandchildren, Caleb Hires, Jason Hires, Benjamin Hires, Audrey Hires, Lauren Hires, Charlotte Hires, Jack Hires, Isla Hires, Ezekiel Wood (Zeke), Zane Wood, Zaddok Wood, Skylar Greene, Megan Greene, Micah Wood, Lexie Wood, Marcus Wood and Baby Max. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

That faith was encouraged by his father and mother, the radio preaching of Paul Rader and regular attendance at Twin City Bible Church and was the essential faith foundation upon which the rest of his life was built.
