Carol Ann Carlson (nee Felkel, Levine) Obituary

Carol Ann Carlson, nee Felkel passed away on January 27, 2020 at the age of 93 from Alzheimer’s. Widowed for the last few years from Howard, she lived since 1998 in the Phoenix area. Prior to moving to Phoenix, she lived in Crete, Illinois and worked at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer, and St. Margaret’s hospital in Hammond as a nurse. She is survived by her family: daughter, Leslie Orr, granddaughters Julie Boozel Murphy, Racheal Orr Cole, and grandsons Patrick Francis Orr, Ronald Kelly Orr, and Matthew Boozel. She has 12 great-grandchildren: Alexis Hope Orr, Misty, CJ, Taylor, Caitlyn, Madelyn, and Phoebe Cole, Tatum and Ella Boozel, and Molly Erin and William Patrick Orr.

Carol’s life was spent in service to others. As a nurse, she cared for the ill in hospitals. Even at age 67, she was still working three-twelves on night duty. She doted on her grandchildren as they grew up in the Chicagoland area. She cared for her daughters and her husband, who had gotten quite ill as he aged.

Carol’s ashes have been placed next to her husband, Howard Edw. (Levine) Carlson, at the National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona. RIP
