He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul and Edna; and his siblings, Dale and Julie Green (Dewey). He is survived by: his brother Wayne (Glenda); his wife Marlene Dee Laird; his son J. D. (Melanie); his pet Curtis (Brian Goodroad); his grandchildren, Janelle Simpson (Heath), Keesa Flake (Louis) and Devin (Sarah); and his pet Greyson.

After nearly two decades of facing Parkinson's disease with courage and grace, Dean is now free from pain.
