He was predeceased by: his wives, Belen Quiroz-Olivas and Herlinda Olivas; his sister Josephine O. Benitez; his son Gilbert "Boy" Jose Olivas; and his parents, Jose Olivas and Ramona Olivas.

He is survived by: his brother Walter Olivas.
