He was predeceased by: his father Foster Meldrum Coffin; his son Timothy Craig Coffin; and his siblings, Richard Slater Coffin, Priscilla Coffin Baxter, Jean Coffin McClung and Laura Treman Almquist.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Heusinkveld; his children, Christina Coffin of New Haven and John F. Coffin of Forestville; his stepsons, John Heusinkveld (Dominika) of Tucson and David Heusinkveld (Regan) of Nashville Tn; and his sister Carol Treman (Cognets). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
