He is survived by: his children, Jose Leopoldo Mendivil, Monica Mendivil (Roman), Lizette Lares, Maria Guadalupe Mendivil and Manuel Ignacio Mendivil; and his siblings, Miguel Angel Mendivil, Ruben Dario Mendivil, Juan Carlos Mendivil, Maria Luisa Valles, Carmen Soto, Trinidad Daniel, Luz Nereida Quintero, Gloria Estela Castaneda and Maribel Cecilia Gonzalez. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
