He was predeceased by: his brother Neil. He is survived by: his wife Penelope; his children, Danielle Shrofe (Eric) and Eliot; his daughter-in-law Stacy Anderson (Jack); his grandchildren, Kaylee Cordova (Jacob), Eric Shrofe and Mary; and his siblings, Sam (Carmen), Bob, John, Tina, Lisa and Cindy Ashenbrener (Rick).

Phil favorite saying was that he "was a middle child and likes attention" and there will be a memorial party when Covid-19 allows safe travel and gatherings.
