He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia Yancick; and his son Virgil Sheets Jr. (Dean). He is survived by: his wife Sherrie; and his children, Pam Schaeffer, Charles Sheets and James Sheets. He is also survived by wife, exploring the desert around Tucson, watching cowboy and WWII movies, playing Friday night poker with his friends, and spoiling his dogs.
