She was predeceased by: her parents, Esperanza Aguilar (Velarde) and Antonio Aguilar; and her husband Ruben Madero. She is survived by: her children, Anna Anderson (John), Ruben (Carmen) and Armando Madero; and her siblings, Janie Lawson (Ellie), Agetha Lucero, Irene Pendergraft, Rose Aguilar, Antonio Aguilar, Jr. (Cecilia) and Steven Aguilar.
