He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen Fuqua (Lavender) and Boone Fuqua; and his daughter Paula McKinley. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Fuqua; his children, Robert, Kim Fuqua, Kyle, Donna Pruitt, Tami Fuqua, Charla and Guy Smallwood, Jr.; his grandchildren, Samuel Fuqua, William Barnhart, E. Deon Nelson, Jr. and Hannah Etter; and his great grandchildren, John Henry Etter and Hazel Grace Etter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a memorial contribution be made in his name to First Baptist Church of Navasota or the Fuqua Cemetery Association.
