He was predeceased by : his parents, Bill Loyd and Marie Loyd (Siracusa); his brother Mike Loyd; and his daughter-in-law Judy Loyd. He is survived by : his wife Veronica Loyd of Imperial, California; his children, Joseph Loyd, Jr. of Imperial, California and Cecily Loyd of Imperial, California; his stepchildren, Mikhail of Imperial, California and Jhericko of Imperial, California; his grandchildren, Joey, Jordan and Silas; and his siblings, Bob Loyd (Cheryl) of Bryan, Ohio and Linda Watson (Jerry) of Bryan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
After the Marines, He worked for 27 years as a corrections officer for the California State Prisons and was given the One Voice United Medal of Honor because of his COVID death.
