He was predeceased by: his mother Lillian; his stepfather Joe Jimenez; his brother John Chavez; and his granddaughter Brianna. He is survived by: his brothers, Saint and Bachelor of Arts; his wife Sally; Gilbert Jr. (Julie), Amy (Ed), Jeannine (Jim), Stephen and Michael. He is also survived by five children.
