He was predeceased by: his parent Gilbert Sr.; and his sibling Emily Trapp. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Collins (Pilkington); his daughter Susan Collins-Migliore; his son-in-law David Migliore; his son David Collins; his daughter-in-law Kathy Jenson; his children, Sally Collins and Steven Collins; his grandchildren, Adam Navarro, Thomas Navarro (Aileen Sagun), Lisa Navarro and Joshua Gonzales; his great grandchild Sienna; his sister-in-law Norma Moon; his parent Pauline Collins (Kavalak); and his sibling Jean Goodman. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.
