With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Anastasia (Culver City, California), born in Encino, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 22, 2025 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his mother Lola Anastasia (Herlocker); and his brother Damon Anastasia. He is survived by: his husband Michael McNelis; his father Jack Anastasia, Sr.; his brothers, Monty Montgomery (Luda) and Jack Anastasia, Jr. (Katherine); his siblings' children, Michael Anastasia (Lauren), Tyler Anastasia (Christina), Lauren Anastasia (Julien), Carter Anastasia and Irina White; and his friends, Abe Werda, Ted Rafdal, Tammy DeRuiter, Janet Higgins, Felicia McAdams, Stephanie Alcocer and Tony Cetro.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 8:55 AM at the Holy Cross Mortuary (5835 W Slauson Ave, Culver City, CA 90230). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (5835 W Slauson Ave, Culver City, CA 90230).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
