He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Laygo and Paul Laygo; his sister Estrella Parker; his father-in-law Ernesto Martinez; and his brother-in-law Dan O'Brien.

He is survived by: his wife Laniebelle; his children, Jonathan, Charles Jr., Amanda and Brandon; and his grandsons, Hayden and Conrad.
