He was predeceased by : his mother Barbara Walker Powell of Buford, GA. He is survived by : his wife Sherry Powell (Lindner); his children, Jenifer Powell of Avon, IN, Christopher, Lacey Powell of Avon, IN, Nick and Christine Lindner of Los Banos, CA; his father Timothy Powell of Buford, GA; and his sisters, Kristine (Craig Streeter), Katherine (Bill Blevins), Karen Powell of Atlanta, GA and Tina (Doug Purdie). He is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
