He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Fernandes and Geneva Fernandes (Rocha); his siblings, Frank, Joe, Johnny, Lee Fernandes, Geneva Brazil, Olivia Mello, Mary Black and Bernice Kitchen; his son Douglas Fernandes; and his niece Vanessa Fernandes.

He is survived by : his wife Kathleen; his children, Curtis (Lillia) of Grover Beach, Mark (Suzanne) of Lancaster, Rhonda Holden of Rocklin, Dennis (Laura) of Manhattan Beach and Wayne True of Long Beach; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sabrina Fernandes, Stephen Fernandes, Joseph Fernandes, Marcus, Tiffaniee Fernandes, Molly, Jared Holden, Devon, Hudson Fernandes, Shane, Alysha, Tyler and Crystal True; his great grandchildren, Owen Fernandes, Graysen Fernandes and Brady True; and his brother Richard Fernandes (Brenda).
