“I just heard the news today oh boy. . .we will miss you! We have good memories of your visits. And the time we visited you in Dublin, had a walk behind your condo with our poodle who went feral chasing the deer!!! And the time you dog sat for us when we went back east. . .and you took him to a different park each day. How you loved dogs! And then there were your fabulous impressions, esp RB's "we'll see!" “To the family and friends of Russ, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia in the early 1970's like Russ. Like Russ, we were part of the Smallpox Eradication Program. Russ served in Ilubabor Province next to Kaffa province where i was assigned. Occasionally over the two years of our serve we would meet and exchange stories over coffee. Russ had the greatest story of all the volunteers that served on the Smallpox Eradication Program; the night he was captured by Southern Sudanese Rebels.”
