She was predeceased by: her parents, Imelda Ortiz Chavez and Francisco Cortez Chavez; her former husband Gerardo Vargas; her nephew Francisco "Pancho" Chavez; and her goddaughter Erika Yunuen Fraga Garcia.
She is survived by: her husband Pedro "Jose" Munoz; her daughters, Jacqueline Salas (Emilio) and Angelica Barron (Omar); her grandchildren, Jasmin, Emilio, Diego, Alexander and Sophia; and her brothers, Humberto Chavez, Armando Chavez (Rosie), Carlos Chavez and Juan Chavez (Maria). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren.
