He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jr. and Doreen; his sister Aileen Miller; and his granddaughter Alexa. He is survived by: his wife Joan; and his children, Jeanette Olivera of San Diego, John Olivera (Tracy) of Gardnerville, NV, Julie Zandonatti of Lompoc, Jeff Olivera of Solvang and Jerry Olivera of Long Beach. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lompoc Valley Historical Society.
