He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Kathy Melatti-Hawkins; his wife Sally; his son Joseph; his daughter-in-law Siobhan of Lompoc; his daughter Annette; his son-in-law Scott Rollins of Pleasanton; and his brother James Melatti of Grants Pass. He was also cherished by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
