He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Maciel and Antonio Reis Maciel; his wife Niveria Maciel; and his brother Horacio Reis. He is survived by: his children, Jose A. Maciel (Mattie) of Colorado, Avelino Maciel (Anateresa) of Gilroy and Gina Maciel of Los Banos; his siblings, Alduar Reis of Los Banos, Armando Maciel of Los Banos, Eduardo Macial of Los Banos, João Maciel of Watsonville, Manuel Maciel of São Jorge, Mario Maciel of Moss Landing, Rafaela Sequeira of Los Banos, Leonesa Azevedo of Watsonville, Victoria Rocha of Aromas and Alda Morrison of Morgan Hill; his sister-in-law Honoria Cardoso of Santa Clara, CA; and his grandchildren, Vincent, Isabel, Hope, André, Aliana and Alexandré Maciel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
