He was predeceased by : his parents, George Jessen and Evelyn Jessen (Lang); and his brother George Jessen, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Nancy Jessen of Austin; his children, Thomas Jessen of Fredericksburg, VA, Kristina Baker of Austin and Ranae Carroll (Brandon McFarland) of Austin; his grandchildren, Codee Jessen (Michelle) of Lakewood, CO, Reanna Gutierrez of Austin and Lillian Dolph of Austin; his great grandchild Christian; his goddaughter Glenda Earles (Anthony); his brothers, Dale Jessen (Audrey) of Gulfport, FL, Wayne "Butch" Jessen of Winona and Charles Jessen (Rita) of Winona; his brother-in-law David, Sr. Mortensen (Marlene "Molly") of Adams; and also, Bryan Goertz, Preston Earles, Zander Earles and Isabella "Izzy" Earles of Austin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 57 people for the service.
Jay was diagnosed with Parkinson's in April of 2009.
