She was loved and cherished by many people including : her grandmother Ruth Howard; her parents, Ernest Paul and Evelyn Paul; her siblings, Naomi Paul, Bess Metsa, Richard Paul and Gerald Paul; her grandson Nicholas Howard; her children, Ramona (Steve Lappier) and Daniel; her grandsons, Corey Lappier, Casey Lappier (Melissa Pitts) and Loren D. Howard; her great grandchildren, Lydia Hoisington-Howard, Kemper, Krew and Karsen Lappier; and her nieces and nephews, Shaleah, Jess and Natalie. She was also cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In 2020, following pandemic-imposed separation from family, Ruth's condition deteriorated and she was transferred mid-April to Contra Costa Medical Center.
