She was predeceased by : her husband Seth Buck; her parents, Martin Johnson and Lorena Johnson; and her siblings, Clarice and Clyde Johnson.

She is survived by : her son Thomas Buck of Hawkins Bar; her nieces, Sally Lindke (Peter Lindke) of Arcata, Susan Levings (Jeffrey Miller) of San Francisco, Cynthia Gill (Roy Gill) of Dixon, Claudia Johnson of Eureka, Shawna Johnson (James Johnson) of Seattle and Wendy Bennett (Craig Bennett) of Martinez; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jennifer Balarie (Ben Balarie) of San Pedro, Kenneth Lindke (Melissa Reneski) of Arcata, Elizabeth Miller of New York City, Chope Gill (Christy Gill) of Woodland, Paige Kiehn (Matthew Kiehn) of Woodland, Rilie Bennett and Jerry Bennett of Martinez. She is also survived by her son's, nieces', and nephews.

As her Parkinson's progressed, Marian joined a new community at the Timber Ridge senior residence in McKinleyville, where she worked on complicated puzzles, attended weekly bingo games, and shared stories with her dining table friends.
