With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elma Lucille Diele of Merced, California, born in Montrose, Colorado, who passed away on July 26, 2021 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Elma Lucille Diele to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Harris and Grace Woods (Whaley); her husband Sam Diele; and her siblings, Olin, Harold, Ralph, Oliver, Howard and Velma.
She is survived by: her children, Jayne Starn (Doug) of Hughson, Mark Diele (Claudia) of Sacramento, Greg Diele (Bernadine) of Merced, Sam Diele (Laura) of Merced and Martha Diele (Mark Frassinelli) of Florida. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Until Covid hit when she was 90, she was playing in five different Bridge groups!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Lu Diele to Merced High School, for the "Sam and Lu Diele Memorial Scholarship".
