She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Virginia Hortense Gough and Lonnie B Gough; her husband Joseph D. DeMatteo Sr.; her children, Stephan L. Sprague, Virginia "Ginger" Taylor (William) of Merced, Toni Jones (Tom) of Merced, Lonna Floyd (David) of Atlanta, GA and Joseph D. "Danny" DeMatteo, Jr. of Winton, CA.; and her sisters, Minnie Belle Buck and Margaret S. Wilson. She was also cherished by eleven grand children, eighteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.
