He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Switzer and Ellen Ladnier Switzer; his former wife Imogene Basden Switzer; and his wife Anna Belle Switzer. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Dale Switzer (Gena), Teri Spencer (Doug) and Mary Shaw. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Hinds Hospice.
