He was predeceased by : his son Shawn Cooper; his parents, Lawrence Albert and Marjorie Viola Cooper; and his siblings, Patricia Gilstrap, Gene and Larry Cooper.

He is survived by : his wife Peggy Cooper; his son Shane Cooper (Coleen); his grandsons, Chad Cooper and Zachary Cooper (Tiana); his great grandchildren, Gabriel Cooper and Atlas Cooper; and his siblings, Yvonne Cooper, John Cooper and Steven (Kathy).
