He was predeceased by : his parents, David Smith and Iola Smith; his siblings, Carolyn Jensen and Ron Smith; his daughter Ginger Smith; and his grandson David Dimmitt.

He is survived by : his wife Anne Smith (Dunn); his children, Michael, Steven Smith (Marla), Debra Bradley (Glen), Shayne Sherwood (Robert) and Anthony Wadlin (Michelle); and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Graham and Brenda Ough (Stephen). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
