He was predeceased by: his wife Rhoda Iwai; and his brother Shiro Iwai. He is survived by: his children, Tami Iwai-Matsuda, Stacey Ishimaru (Daniel) and Kent Iwai; his grandchildren, Craig Matsuda, Lauren and Cory Ishimaru; and his siblings, Kazuo (Cary), Setsuko and Michio Iwai. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
