He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Arcelia Quintero; his sister Maria of Jesus Quintero; and his children, Blanca A. Petersen (Dennis), Ernesto (Maria), Honorina Quintero, Alberto (Marli), Reyna Salas (James), Juan, Julio (Michelle), Alejandrina McCluskey (Mark), Fidel, Mateo Jr. and Alfredo. He was also cherished by 8 children, 33 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
