She was predeceased by : her husband Mario H. Areias; her brother Ildo Fernandes Garcia; and her parents, Manuel Garcia and Maria of Lurdes Fernandes. She is survived by : her children, Mario A. Areias (Garieanne) of Oakdale, Cecilia Areias (Doug Castle) of Turlock, Bertha "Bertie" Areias (Richard Cunningham) of Hughson and Mary Areias-Romo (Ricardo Romo) of Newman; and her siblings, Manuel Garcia (Margie) of Patterson, Natal Fernandes of São Mateus, Terçeira and Azores. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
