Marianne Lee (Shields) Klose Obituary
Marianne Lee (Shields) Klose died at age 69 on July 19, 2003 at her home in Oceanside, California. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 30, 1933 to Maurice Shields and Etta Dorothy Cohen. Soon after her birth, she was given up to be raised by her aunt Bertha (Cohen) Levensky and her husband Ed Levensky. She grew up in the small towns of Bassett and Valentine and helped her father in his general store.
Later her family returned to Omaha where Marianne attended Benson High School. After school, she left home to live on her own at a boarding house and there she met the love of her life, George Klose, a WWII refugee from Poland, 9 years her senior. They married on October 25, 1953 and first moved to Fort Wayne and then in 1955 to Southern California, where they spent the rest of their lives. They had two boys, Paul Stefan and Kenneth Damon, and were very devoted parents. She liked traveling, playing bridge, bowling, dancing, discovering new music, drive-in movies and purusing garage sales to look for finds. She was a very compassionate person and somewhat of a free spirit.
She will be dearly missed by her children Paul (Amy) and Kenneth and her grandchildren Melissa, Rachel, Rebecca and Elyssa. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband George, her adopted and birth parents, her brother Richard Levensky and her sister Tina Levensky. She was cremated and there was no memorial ceremony.
