She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Robert Akers; her children, Robert D. Akers Jr., Constance Akers Brown (Gary) and Lewis Edward Akers; her former life partner Richard Barclay; her children, Scott Barclay, Kellie Fagan (Dave) and Terri Ruder (Don); her granddaughter Mimi Brown; her sister-in-law Nancy Szeliga (Ed); and her stepgrandchildren, Evan, Corrie Fagan, Emily, Josh Ruder, Effie, Tolmie and Conor Barclay. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She participated in many activities: Tri-Y 1, 2, 3, 4 (Charity work), Weekly newspaper 2, 3, Class Officer 3, Student body officer 4, Glee Club 4, Senior Class play 4, Instrumental Music Club 4, and Band 1, 2, 3, 4, (she played the flute).
