He is survived by : his wife Doris; his children, Gretchen Ruth Muehl, Lisa Genevieve Muehl Montell (Marshall Ray Godbey) and Eric Owen Ginsburg (Jennifer Ellen Ginsburg); and his grandchildren, Daniel Vernon Ginsburg, Adrienne Julia Mahar Keane (John Keane), Jonathan Trevor Mahar and Adam Nathaniel Godbey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to support the Social Psychology Founders Award at the University of Nevada, Reno.
