He was predeceased by: his parents, Candido Acosta and Margarita Luna of Mexico; his wife Victoria; and his sons, David S. and Salvador Jr. (Gordo).

He is survived by: his children, Marjorie, Larry and Gary; and his grandchildren, David, Amber, Tiffany, Katrina and Dusty. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
