He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell McKinniss and Maude McKinniss (Erwin); his son-in-law Robert Whitney; and his granddaughter Carolynne Lee Whitney. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter Brenda DeDonato (Larry); his grandson Mark DeDonato (Bethany); his daughter Dawn Whitney; his grandchildren, Danielle Moore (Frank), Desiree Chavez (Mark), Ryan Whitney and Braden Whitney; his daughter Margaret Joan Russell (Douglas); his grandchildren, Shannon Martin (Richard), Shari Russell, Leesa Greenawalt (Zachary), Laura Russell and Nicole Russell; his daughter Sherri Lee Poma (Mario); and his grandchildren, Kyle Poma (Chelsea), Kristine Rallo (Jonathan) and Gregory Poma. He is also survived by his twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Palm Desert Greens Clubhouse.
