He was predeceased by: his mother Ana Maria (Sanches) of Alzheimer's. He is survived by: his father Alberto Bettencourt; his children, Gehrig, Taylor and Cooper; his siblings, Daniel and Lia; and his brother-in-law Brian Youngs. He is also survived by many other family members including his mother.

Being a father was what brought him the most pride and joy, a role cut far too short by early onset Alzheimer's disease.
